STORIES OF THE ONKAPARINGA WOOLLEN MILL

Adelaide Hills Yarn Co. is proud of our local area & its rich history.  The historic & iconic Onkaparinga Woollen Mill is a huge part of that history, which sadly closed its doors in 1993.

Most people will remember the iconic & patented woollen blankets produced by the Onkaparinga Woollen Mill - which one do you remember?

Be quick to catch a historic exhibition of the famous Onkaparinga Woollen Mill, as part of South Australia’s History month. Large scale projections, performances & installations present the experiences of former workers at the Mill, marking the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Mills establishment.

This event is made possible by local artists, writers, community members & Adelaide Hills Council. So come along & enjoy a multi-sensory & unique experience!

Where?  Fabrik arts + heritage, 1 Lobethal Rd, LOBETHAL

    Hi,
I was a close friend of Stan Skrzypczak who passed away on August 5 2020 this year. I understand Stan played a significant role in adapting the technology at the mill which lead to the Onkaparinga patent. Happy to discuss.
